The Broadcasters Foundation of America has announced that Dan Mason will be the recipient of the 2025 Edward F. McLaughlin Lifetime Achievement Award. This prestigious accolade is awarded annually to individuals who have made significant contributions to the broadcast industry. Mason will receive the award at the BFOA Golden Mic Award Gala and Fundraiser, which will take place at the Plaza Hotel in New York City on Monday, March 10.

Mason is a formidable executive and innovator in the broadcasting community, particularly noted for his tenure as CEO of CBS Radio from 2007 to 2015. During this time, Mason spearheaded an aggressive expansion strategy that not only included launching new formats but also acquiring major market properties and significantly enhancing CBS Radio's digital presence through streaming platforms and mobile applications. His leadership was instrumental in navigating the merger of CBS, Group W, Infinity Radio, and American Radio Systems, effectively shaping the modern landscape of radio broadcasting.

Reflecting on the honor, Mason said, "I am honored to receive this distinction from the Broadcasters Foundation. Broadcasting gave me a career that I love on the air and in the boardroom. There are many broadcasters across our country who feel the same way, but tragedy struck their lives, leaving them in need of help. That's why I served on the Board of the Broadcasters Foundation and continue to support its charitable mission."

Scott Herman, Chair of the Broadcasters Foundation, praised Mason's visionary approach and leadership, which he observed firsthand during their time together at Westinghouse and CBS. "Dan is a passionate broadcaster whose accomplishments helped define today's broadcasting business," Herman stated.

Tim McCarthy, President of the Broadcasters Foundation, also commended Mason, noting, "Dan is the perfect candidate to receive the prestigious Edward F. McLaughlin Lifetime Achievement Award. His commitment to advancing the broadcast business, especially into the digital space, is well-known, as is his dedication to the mission of the Broadcasters Foundation."
