KMEL/San Francisco Names Sharon ''Shay'' Frank as PD

iHeartMedia San Francisco appoints Sharon "Shay" Frank as Program Director of Hip Hop KMEL-FM, effective immediately. She'll continue to host middays, weekdays from 10am-2pm. Born and raised in San Francisco, Shay began her journey at 106.1 KMEL as an intern while attending UC Berkeley. After graduating, she held positions in promotions and on-air, ultimately becoming Music Director in 2013.

"Shay's deep knowledge and passion for the bay area community and culture, along with her extensive overall skills make her the perfect leader for this iconic radio station," said iHeartMedia Executive Vice President of Programming Gene Romano.
