The Broadcasters Foundation of America (BFOA) has announced Katz Media Group as the recipient of the 2025 Philip J. Lombardo Spirit Award. The award will be accepted by Katz Media CEO, Mark Gray, during the BFOA Golden Mic Gala and Fundraiser, scheduled for March 10 in New York City.

The Spirit Award recognizes individuals or companies that embody the philanthropic spirit of the late Phil Lombardo, BFOA's former chairman, known for his dedication to the foundation's mission of supporting broadcasters in need.

Under the leadership of its current and previous CEOs, Katz Media Group has been a significant supporter of the BFOA, organizing an annual donation drive that has amassed over $450,000 since its inception. The drive was originally spearheaded by Stu Olds, former CEO and a passionate advocate for the BFOA. Following his passing in 2010, contributions have been directed to The Stu Olds Memorial Fund, continuing his legacy of support.

"I'm incredibly proud of our team for their annual contributions in Stu's honor," said Mark Gray. "The Broadcasters Foundation has been a steadfast source of support for those facing debilitating illnesses and natural disasters, and we are committed to supporting this mission."

Tim McCarthy, President of the Broadcasters Foundation, praised Katz Media Group for its ongoing commitment. "The Katz Drive has become a cornerstone of our fundraising efforts, allowing us to help our colleagues when they need it most," McCarthy stated.

The BFOA invites industry professionals and supporters to the Golden Mic Dinner and Awards Ceremony. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Peter Doyle via email. For more information about the Broadcasters Foundation and how to support or apply for aid, please visit broadcastersfoundation.org.
