FCC Chairman Brendan Carr appoints new members to the agency's leadership, bringing in experts with extensive backgrounds in law, policy, economics, and communications. Carr says these appointments aim to bolster the FCC's mission to promote free speech and economic opportunities across the U.S.

Adam Candeub is named the General Counsel of the FCC. A seasoned academic and legal expert, Candeub was most recently a law professor at Michigan State University, where he joined the faculty in 2004. His prior experience includes roles as an FCC attorney advisor and several positions in private law practice. He has also served in the Trump Administration, including a stint as Deputy Associate Attorney General at the Department of Justice.

Jay Schwarz will take over as Chief of the newly established Space Bureau. Schwarz, a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh and a former civil engineer, returns to the FCC after roles in both the private sector and previous FCC administrations. His expertise in wireline and wireless telecommunications will guide the bureau's strategic initiatives in space communications.

Adam Jackman has been appointed as the Director of Strategic Communications in the Office of Media Relations. Coming from a role as Director of Digital Communications for the U.S. House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party, Jackman has a rich background in media production and political science, having graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern California.

Dana Howell will serve as Executive Assistant in the Office of Chairman Carr. Howell's over 30 years of government service includes significant time within the FCC, where she managed resources and provided administrative support in various capacities.
