Caroline D'Amore, known for her appearances on reality TV shows and as the founder of the LA-based organic Italian food company, Pizza Girl, is set to launch a new true crime series titled "Once Upon a Con." The series is slated to premiere on February 12 via the iHeartRadio app and will be available across all major podcast platforms.
In collaboration with iHeartPodcasts, the top podcast publisher globally as per Podtrac, "Once Upon a Con" will follow D'Amore's harrowing journey from being a victim to becoming a tenacious advocate for justice. The series aims to expose the fraudulent schemes of David Bloom, a notorious con artist whose criminal activities have finally caught up with him thanks to D'Amore's efforts.
The podcast is produced by 32 Flavors and AYR Media, companies known for their work on popular reality shows and true crime podcasts. It promises to provide gripping insights into D'Amore's high-stakes confrontation with Bloom that led to his arrest on multiple felony charges.
The story centers around Bloom's 2020 infiltration into Hollywood's elite circles, specifically the iconic Villa Carlotta, where he posed as a philanthropic billionaire with fictitious connections to influential figures. His elaborate scams not only targeted D'Amore, costing her and her business partners tens of thousands of dollars, but also defrauded others out of much more.
D'Amore's personal investigation uncovered decades of deceit dating back to Bloom's days as the infamous "Wall Street Whiz Kid" in Manhattan. Her relentless pursuit of justice is chronicled in the podcast, taking listeners through the meticulous steps she took to bring Bloom to justice.
"'Once Upon a Con' isn't just about what happened to me -- it's about exposing the manipulators who prey on trust and showing that even when you feel powerless, you can take the fight to those who think they're untouchable," D'Amore stated.
The series will also feature interviews with Bloom's other victims, exploring his long history of fraud that spans both Hollywood and Manhattan.
