This Valentine's Day, KRTH-FM (K-Earth 101) in Los Angeles is setting aside romantic gestures in favor of community spirit by supporting the first responders who battled January's devastating fires. The event, dubbed "Buy Breakfast for a Firefighter," will take place on February 14 from 6-10am PT at HomeState, a local Pasadena restaurant that narrowly escaped the blaze.

Morning hosts Gary Bryan and Lisa Stanley will host a live broadcast from HomeState, encouraging listeners to join in celebrating and supporting the local heroes by offering them a hearty breakfast. The initiative not only aims to honor the firefighters but also to foster community resilience and togetherness in the face of recent adversities.

Audacy Southern California Regional President Jeff Federman expressed his gratitude, stating, "We are deeply grateful for the brave first responders who tirelessly worked to combat the fires and safeguard our community. This Valentine's Day, we're excited to unite with our fellow community members and HomeState to honor these heroes' unwavering resilience and sacrifice."

HomeState, known for its Texas-inspired cuisine, including breakfast tacos and brisket, has been an active participant in relief efforts, providing over 7,000 meals from its parking lot in collaboration with World Central Kitchen.

Andy Valdez, HomeState's Director of Marketing, highlighted the restaurant's role in the recovery efforts, saying, "We're in the middle of so much of the impacted area near Altadena, right on the corner of Altadena and Pasadena where homes as close as two blocks from here were unfortunately lost in the fires. We're so excited to open our doors to the community once again and show some love that they need right now. Nothing says love like tacos and warm hospitality."

HomeState continues to support first responders, volunteers, and neighbors impacted by the fire through ongoing meal provisions, backed by the World Central Kitchen and its Guest Wildfire Relief Fund.
