iHeartMedia's WRVE-FM/Albany, NY is expanding its annual charity event, "99.5 The River Pay Less for the Dress," now set to run over two days to assist more local teens with affordable prom attire. The event will be held at Proctor's Key Hall on the evening of February 28 and during the day on March 1.

Originally a one-day event, the initiative will feature hundreds of gently used and new dresses, each sold for just $9.95. These dresses have been donated by community members and are available at significantly reduced prices to make prom night more accessible for area students.

The event, sponsored by CDPHP and supported by Best Cleaners, will see proceeds going to The Proctor's Scholarship Fund and The ARC of Rensselaer County. Those interested in donating dresses can do so at any Best Cleaners location in the area.

Adding to the event, the "99.5 The River Morning Show" hosts Kevin & Tracy will broadcast live from local high schools in the weeks leading up to the event, further engaging the community and promoting the cause.

Rob VanDerbeck, Market President for iHeartMedia Albany, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion: "We're excited to expand on this community event giving even more area students the opportunity to find an affordable prom dress of their dreams. It means a lot to iHeart and our stations to support our local students on a milestone occasion such as prom; being able to help some of our area's charitable organizations makes this event even more meaningful."

"Pay Less for the Dress" has been a key community event since its inception in 2015 but was put on hold in 2020 due to the pandemic. Past beneficiaries of the event include The Bernard and Millie Duker Children's Hospital at Albany Med, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and The Center for Disability Services, highlighting its ongoing commitment to local charitable efforts.
