CNN Audio is expanding its podcast lineup with the introduction of "Chance Encounters," a new series hosted by CNN Travel Writer Francesca Street. Based on her column, the podcast explores remarkable stories of travel connections that Street has collected over the years, ranging from high-altitude romances to friendships formed on far-flung adventures.

The inaugural episode, now available, features Cristina Farina, an Italian traveler whose 1984 summer in London took an unexpected turn towards lifelong love in Trafalgar Square after a missed connection. "I love speaking with people about their amazing and inspiring stories of how travel can lead to unexpected romance and lifelong friendship," Street commented. "It's my privilege to be entrusted with these journeys, and I'm delighted that the Chance Encounters podcast is bringing them to life in a new and wonderful way."

Street, a London-based digital journalist recognized for her contributions to travel journalism, has received several awards, including the MHP 30 under 30 Young Journalists Gold Award and multiple Travel Media Awards. Her work has not only earned accolades but has also been widely read, with four of her 2024 articles featured in Chartbeat's most read articles of the year.

"Chance Encounters" will release new episodes every Monday and can be accessed on all major podcast platforms.
