Cumulus Media's WKQX-FM (Q101) is set to honor Women's History Month with a special on-air feature, "The Women Who Make Q101," highlighting the female artists who have shaped the sound of Chicago's Alternative music station.

Airing weekdays at 12pm (noon) throughout March, the feature will include personal stories and musical journeys from St. Vincent's Anne Clark, Garbage's Shirley Manson, Evanescence's Amy Lee, and Beach Bunny's Lili Trifilio. Hosted by Q101's Lauren O'Neil, the month-long celebration will culminate in a multi-hour special airing on Monday, March 31 at 12pm.

"I am always grateful for the opportunity to honor, amplify and celebrate the incredible Women Who Make Q101," said Q101 air personality Lauren O'Neil. "These women inspired me to get into radio and continue to inspire me every day. Join me every weekday at Noon Central as we celebrate the music, talent, art, tenacity, and impact of the icons who have blazed the path from the beginning and those who continue to carry the torch today, culminating in a multi-hour special on the last day of Women's History Month. Stream from anywhere in the world at Q101.com."

The programming is a passion project for O'Neil, according to James Kurdziel, Director of Content and Programming at Q101. "The best part of this month-long tribute for me is that I get a front-row seat to hear Lauren O'Neil, who is synonymous with modern rock in Chicago, as she pays tribute to the iconic women who have shaped our brand and our format," Kurdziel said. "This is born, planned and executed solely from Lauren's passion for the Women Who Make Q101."

Listeners can tune in on Q101 FM, stream at q101.com, and follow the celebration on social media (@q101chicago and Facebook).
