The Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) is set to host a series of engaging events this spring aimed at enhancing creativity and recognizing excellence in radio scriptwriting. On March 21, RAB will hold a special lunchtime session titled "Secrets to Writing Winning Scripts." The event features award-winning copywriter Larissa Kirschner-Chaney and Radio Mercury Awards winner Josh Ryan. They will share insights and practical advice on crafting compelling radio scripts that capture audience attention and drive engagement.

Participants in the March 21 event can expect to learn strategies to enhance their brand's creative audio campaigns. The session promises to reveal methods that make listeners lean in and respond, thereby boosting the effectiveness of radio advertisements.

In addition to the educational session, the RAB is calling for entries into the Radio Mercury Awards. Celebrating creativity across the radio and audio industry, this unique competition awards cash prizes and has distributed close to $3.5 million over the past 33 years. The 2025 edition of the awards has expanded to include new categories that reflect the current trends in the radio and audio landscape. Categories include standout broadcast radio spots and campaigns, digital streaming spots, podcast single spots, humor, original music, sound design, Spanish-language content, and multi-platform campaigns.

The deadline for submissions to the Radio Mercury Awards is April 1, and interested parties are encouraged to download an entry kit and submit their work online by visiting the Radio Mercury Awards website. This spring offers a valuable opportunity for agencies and advertisers to showcase their creative talents.
