iHP, 11:11 Media Announce New True Crime Limited Series

iHeartPodcasts, in collaboration with London Audio from Paris Hilton's media company 11:11 Media, has announced a new true-crime series, "My Friend Daisy." This limited series dives into the murder of 19-year-old Daisy De La O and the role of social media platform TikTok in tracking down her killer. The podcast is executive produced by Paris Hilton and features the investigative talents of award-winning journalist Jenn Swann.

Set to release its first episode on March 26, with subsequent episodes to follow every Wednesday, "My Friend Daisy" explores the tragic 2021 murder outside De La O's Compton apartment. In the absence of immediate progress by law enforcement, Daisy's circle of friends and family turned to social media to spread the word about her disappearance and death. Their digital efforts sparked an international manhunt and showcased the power of online communities in pursuing justice.

Hilton expressed her commitment to the project, stating, "I'm always looking for ways to shine a light on important stories. When I first read Daisy De La O's story by Jenn Swann on The Cut, I was heartbroken but also deeply moved by the way her community came together using digital activism to demand justice. Partnering with iHeart and Jenn, who already knows Daisy's story, was important to me, because together we can reach even more people, raise awareness and continue to stand against domestic violence. Women's voices too often go unheard and I remain committed to advocating for a world where every woman's story matters."

Jenn Swann, the writer and host of the podcast, commented on her draw to Daisy's story, "After I came across the TikToks about Daisy, I couldn't stop thinking about them. I immediately wanted to know more about who she was, how her community had rallied around her, and what had compelled them to take justice into their own hands. This story shows how the app has, in some cases, become a lifeline for friends and families of crime victims-for better or worse."

"My Friend Daisy" is produced by Paris Hilton along with Bruce Gersh, Bruce Robertson, and Joanna Studebaker from London Audio, and includes contributions from Jonathan Hirsh from Sony Music Entertainment, as well as Danielle Romo and Amy Sugarman from iHeartPodcasts.
