Amaturo Sonoma Media Group has announced the cessation of its 250w K300AO (Oldies 107.9) in Santa Rosa, CA, spokesperson Jim Murphy confirmed to the The Press Democrat on Friday. The station, popular for playing Classic Hits from artists like the Beatles, the Supremes, and the Beach Boys, will cease broadcasting at midnight on Friday.

The shutdown is due to a reassignment of the station's frequency by the FCC, which has authorized a new higher power station in Boonville to operate on the same frequency. This new station will take precedence over the lower-power facility in Santa Rosa.

Owned by Amaturo Sonoma Media Group, which also manages several other radio stations and media entities including 97.7 The River, Froggy 92.9, Hot 101.7, and North Bay Biz Magazine, K300AO has been on the air since the summer of 2022. Despite the option to relocate Oldies 107.9 to another frequency, the company decided to discontinue the station.
