Quu Inc. has published its second annual In-Vehicle Visuals Report. This year's report provides an updated analysis of the integration of radio in the dashboards of the top 100 best-selling vehicles in the United States. The report offers a comprehensive database and an expanded vehicle analysis, featuring an updated dashboard feature scorecard and six key findings with actionable recommendations.

Notable radio industry figures, including Fred Jacobs, President of Jacobs Media; Paul Jacobs, VP/GM of Jacobs Media; Joe D'Angelo, SVP of Global Broadcast Radio at Xperi Inc.; and Mike McVay, President of McVay Media Consulting, contributed their expertise to the report. These experts, alongside Quu CEO Steve Newberry, will discuss the report's findings in a free webinar scheduled for April 2 at 3pm ET.

Key insights from the report reveal that while AM/FM radio remains a standard feature, its accessibility and usage are increasingly challenged by the proliferation of digital alternatives in vehicle dashboards. The report categorizes 74% of the surveyed models as "audio-forward"-meaning the system defaults to the last audio source used. In contrast, only 26% of models are "radio-forward," where the operating system either boots up to a radio interface or includes a dedicated radio button.

Among the notable trends, the report highlights the increasing integration of HD radio and built-in streaming applications, underscoring a shift towards more diverse audio offerings within vehicles. It also notes that while all new vehicles are capable of displaying text, over half can now also show images, enhancing the user interface experience.

Steve Newberry, CEO of Quu, emphasized the importance of radio maintaining visibility and engagement in vehicle dashboards. "AM/FM radio has been a mainstay in local communities for over a century. Despite facing more competition than ever, by leveraging our unique content and fostering strong local ties, radio can continue to hold a significant place in the evolving digital landscape of vehicle dashboards," Newberry stated.

The complete report, including the detailed dashboard scoreboard and vehicle data, is available for public access at QuuReport.com, where users can search, sort, and delve deeper into the specifics of each model surveyed.
