Beasley Media Group Detroit has joined forces with University of Michigan Athletics and Learfield's Michigan Sports Properties to broadcast Michigan Wolverines games. This partnership, set to begin with the 2025 Michigan Football season, designates 94.7 WCSX-FM as the new flagship radio home for the Wolverines.
Under the multi-year agreement, WCSX-FM will air all football, men's basketball, and men's hockey games, alongside coaches' shows and unique ancillary programming. Additionally, WMGC-FM (105.1 The Bounce) will broadcast select women's basketball regular-season and postseason games, ensuring comprehensive coverage for the university's fans.
The collaboration extends beyond live game broadcasts to include a comprehensive digital and promotional strategy across Beasley Media Detroit's omni-channel platforms. This strategy encompasses on-air, online, and on-site content, featuring weekly athletics features, exclusive interviews, and digital content designed to engage fans daily.
Kevin Rich, Vice President of Operations at Beasley Media Group, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "When it comes to college athletics, no brand is bigger and no fan base is more passionate than the University of Michigan. We're thrilled to partner with the University and Michigan Sports Properties to bring top-tier programming and play-by-play coverage to fans across Southeast Michigan. Go Blue!"
Patti Taylor, Vice President and Market Manager of Beasley Media Group Detroit, highlighted the historical significance of the agreement. "Michigan Athletics has a long and storied tradition, just like WCSX, a heritage station with deep roots across Southeastern Michigan," said Taylor. "We're proud to unite these two legacies and continue delivering Michigan Athletics to passionate fans across the region on our platforms."
Jennifer Cadicamo, Vice President and General Manager of Michigan Sports Properties, underscored the uniqueness of this partnership in the Detroit market, noting, "For the first time in the Detroit market, Michigan fans can hear live coverage of all football, basketball, and hockey on a regional FM signal with 94.7 WCSX."
