As Mother's Day approaches, new data from Edison Research reveals which podcasts are connecting most deeply with one of the most valuable listener segments for advertisers: moms. The firm's latest Podcast Metrics report, capturing U.S. weekly podcast listening during Q1, not only ranks the Top 50 shows overall but also highlights those with the highest concentration of moms-defined as women with children under the age of 18 in the household-among their weekly audiences.
Topping the list are Karma & Chaos and Coffee Convos, both co-hosted by MTV "Teen Mom" alum Kail Lowry, a 33-year-old mother of seven. Lowry's personal and candid style appears to resonate strongly with listeners who are navigating motherhood themselves.
The report notes an intriguing trend: with one exception, all of the top shows attracting moms are hosted or co-hosted by mothers. However, these podcasts aren't narrowly focused on parenting. Instead, they span genres like true crime, pop culture, entertainment, and relationships, often blending humor and vulnerability with real-life experiences.
Edison Research observed that many of these podcasters initially gained public attention through reality television, later transitioning to podcasting as a new platform for authentic engagement with their audiences.
