Audacy has announced that programming veteran JR Ammons is expanding his responsibilities to include Brand Manager duties at KHMX-FM (Mix 96.5) in Houston. Ammons will guide the Hot AC outlet's content strategy, operations, branding, and air talent.

This move adds to Ammons' existing leadership portfolio, which includes oversight of Audacy's Kansas City stations KZPT-FM (99.7 The Point) and WDAF-FM (106.5 The Wolf), as well as St. Louis stations 102.5 KEZK and KYKY-FM (Y98). He also serves as Vice President of Programming for Audacy Kansas City.

"JR is a great leader who has delivered outstanding results, and I look forward to seeing him expand his expertise to Mix 96.5," said Audacy Houston SVP and Market Manager Sarah Fraizer.

"Mix 96.5 is one of the most listened to Hot AC stations in the country, with a weekly audience of over a million people," said Ammons. "I'm incredibly excited for the opportunity to work alongside the talented team at KHMX."

Ammons rejoined Audacy in 2022 after serving 11 years as Operations Manager for WZPL-FM, WNTR-FM, and WXNT-AM in Indianapolis. His programming background also includes stints at WSTR-FM in Atlanta, WAPE-FM in Jacksonville, and KMXV-FM in Kansas City.
