Wondery Launches ''Lawless Planet'' True Crime Podcast

Wondery is set to debut "Lawless Planet," a new true crime podcast that delves into the underreported world of environmental crime and corruption. The weekly series, hosted by Emmy Award-winning journalist Zach Goldbaum, premieres July 28 on Wondery and all major podcast platforms.

Described as a narrative-driven exploration of greed, power, and environmental destruction, Lawless Planet moves beyond traditional climate reporting to tell gripping stories of organized crime, corporate exploitation, and government coverups. Each episode uncovers how illegal activities -- from deforestation to fraud -- are shaping the global environmental crisis.

The show centers on the people entangled in these high-stakes conflicts: activists, corporate executives, government agents, and criminal networks all vying for control over the planet's resources. Through cinematic storytelling and investigative journalism, the podcast aims to expose the hidden forces behind some of the world's most pressing environmental challenges.

Host Zach Goldbaum brings a background in immersive, on-the-ground reporting. He previously produced award-winning films for The New York Times and hosted Viceland's Noisey, where he covered global social and political issues. His work has also appeared in VICE Magazine and the Detroit Metro Times.

Lawless Planet is produced by Wondery, known for its signature audio storytelling style. New episodes will be released weekly starting July 28.
