VuHaus Group, the public media organization behind the nation's only national music station network, appoints Geary Yonker as its new Sponsorship Director. In this role, Yonker will lead national sales initiatives on behalf of VuHaus Group's network of station affiliates and non-commercial music stations. He'll also oversee sponsorship development for the organization's signature platform, NPR Music Live Sessions.

VuHaus Group board chairman Roger LaMay welcomed the addition, stating, "We are pleased to add a proven sales veteran with strong public radio music experience. He will hit the ground running."

Yonker previously spent 15 years leading national efforts at WBEZ Chicago. During his time there, he represented programs such as This American Life and Serial, played a pivotal role in launching the Vocalo "Urban Alternative" format, and helped shape WBEZ's first digital sales strategy.

"Public radio is more than just the news. It's a way of experiencing the world around you," said Yonker. "Music plays a key role in that experience, and we intend to give non-commercial music stations all the tools they need to compete in this new environment."

In addition to his new responsibilities at VuHaus Group, Yonker will continue as Business Development Manager for Sound Opinions, a role he has held since 2010.
