Rumble in the Morning host Rick Rumble is celebrating 30 years on the air at WNOR (FM99) in Norfolk, a milestone that underscores his long-running presence in Hampton Roads radio since joining the station in 1995.
Rumble's path to Norfolk began in his hometown of Grand Rapids with stops in St. Louis, Memphis, Philadelphia, San Diego, and New Orleans -- a circuit he jokes makes him "radio's version of Carmen Sandiego." At FM99, he's become a morning fixture known for quick wit, grounded humor, and a steady connection to the local community.
Beyond the show, Rumble has been active in regional philanthropy, helping raise millions of dollars for organizations including ForKids, area Foodbanks, and FM99's Christmas Wish Fund. He co-hosts Rumble in the Morning with Rod Fitzwell, Sean Hood, Rina Rizzo, and Mike Alexander.
A comedy writer and producer for an international syndicator, Rumble's voiceover work includes campaigns for ESPN, Ford Motor Company, McDonald's, Disney, and PBS Kids. His recent accolades include the Virginia Association of Broadcasters' 2025 Award for Best Radio Personality/Show in Virginia, an honor he quipped "clearly my mom got a vote" for.
"Rick Rumble isn't just a radio personality -- he's part of the fabric of Hampton Roads," said Carol Commander, General Manager of Hampton Roads Media Group. "For three decades, he's been making us laugh, making us think, and helping us give back. We're proud to celebrate his 30 years of extraordinary contributions."
Reflecting on the milestone, Rumble said, "I've been lucky enough to spend 30 years doing what I love, in a community I love, with listeners who feel like family. It's been the ride of a lifetime."
