This year's summit, themed "I'M HER: Unlocking the Leader in You," will focus on building confidence and leadership skills among young women, particularly from underrepresented communities. The program will feature breakout sessions, interactive panels, and workshops addressing topics such as career mapping, emotional intelligence, self-image, and purpose-driven leadership
Scheduled sessions include:
- Build the Vision, Begin the Journey with Dr. Charlene Thomas
- Self-Love Is Leadership with Dr. Sarah Ceballos
- Glow From Within with Natasha and Candi of Make Me Over Beauty
- Create with Purpose, Lead with Impact panel moderated by Tai Marie
- Closing keynote from author and community builder Christina Wilds
The summit is presented in partnership with Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson, who said the event "provides young women with the insight, inspiration, and representation they deserve." Dr. Charles J. Gibbs, president of MCNY, added that the initiative aligns with the college's Purpose-Centered Education mission
Torrez, a 2021 graduate of MCNY and founder of the #GoGetHer Foundation, created the event to offer mentorship and access to young women of color pursuing careers in music and media
