True Crime Podcast ''Hell in Heaven'' Premieres October 9

Hell In Heaven

Exactly Right Media, home to My Favorite Murder, is teaming with iHeartPodcasts and Blanchard House on a new limited true crime series, Hell in Heaven, set to debut October 9, 2025.

The eight-part podcast, hosted by journalist Becky Milligan, tells the story of John and Ann Bender, a wealthy couple who built a circular mansion deep in the Costa Rican jungle as both a sanctuary and fortress. Their attempt at paradise devolved into fear, isolation, and tragedy, culminating in a single gunshot and years of murder trials.

The series will feature exclusive interviews with John Bender's parents, original scoring, and sounds recorded inside the Costa Rican rainforest. Milligan's reporting aims to explore themes of wealth, obsession, and survival in one of the world's most remote settings.

"Hell in Heaven captivates the listener and elevates the genre," said Karen Kilgariff, CEO of Exactly Right Media. Rosie Pye, co-founder of Blanchard House, added that the project tells "a fascinating mystery that demands attention."

Distributed by iHeartPodcasts, Hell in Heaven will release new episodes weekly on the iHeartRadio app and all major podcast platforms beginning October 9.
