Chico's KYIX-HD3 (105.7 FM The Mountain) has been temporarily taken over by the cats. At 4pm Friday, the station flipped to "MEOW 105.7," a cat-themed stunt format that will run until Wednesday's official rebranding at noon.
"MEOW 105.7" is spinning nothing but 1990s Top 40 hits, promising a nostalgic, commercial-free playlist designed to connect with Millennials, Gen Z, and even Gen Alpha.
"We're pawsitively thrilled to share this mews with our listeners," said Robert Paul, General Manager and Vice President of Miracle Media One LLC. "The 90s were a cat-alyst for unforgettable music, and now we're serving it up with a feline twist. It's fun, it's nostalgic, and it's absolutely hiss-terical."
The station is leaning fully into its theme with playful branding, surprise meow sounders, tongue-in-cheek DJ banter, and plenty of feline puns.
The "MEOW 105.7" takeover is part of a larger format change set to be revealed next week. Until then, listeners can tune in for a paws-itively purrfect 90s throwback experience.
