Jacobs Media, jacapps Expand Tools to Boost Digital Revs

Jacobs Media and its app development partner, jacapps, are ramping up efforts to help stations grow digital revenue through a trio of new initiatives. The companies are offering free webinars, an expanded digital consulting service, and a new programmatic advertising feature built into all jacapps mobile apps.

The move comes as broadcasters across formats -- commercial, public, and Christian -- seek ways to offset declines in traditional ad sales and capitalize on the growth of digital advertising.

"Broadcasters of all sizes recognize that dollars are shifting away from the traditional way radio has been sold," said Jacobs Media VP/General Manager and jacapps President Paul Jacobs. "We are committed to helping stations make the adjustments necessary to be successful. This starts with education, but also showing stations that by looking at their business in a different way... they can unlock digital revenue."

The three-part webinar series will take place October 21 and 28, and November 5 at 2pm ET. Presented by Director of Digital Revenue Chris Brunt, sessions will guide stations through assessing their current sales position, building a digital strategy, and monetizing digital assets like web streams, mobile apps, and newsletters.

In addition, the companies' Jacobs D.R. consulting service -- launched last year -- offers one-on-one guidance for stations at various stages of digital revenue development.

To further boost revenue opportunities, jacapps has also added programmatic advertising to all of its mobile app builds. "Mobile revenue is the fastest-growing segment of the advertising space, yet many stations haven't begun to monetize their apps," said jacapps COO Bob Kernen. "By adding a programmatic component, we're helping stations start generating revenue immediately while their sales teams ramp up local business."

Stations can learn more and register for the webinars at jacobsmedia.com.
