KYW Newsradio (103.9 FM and 1060 AM) in Philadelphia has honored two of its most respected voices -- reporter and anchor John Ostapkovich and Business Editor and anchor Vince Hill -- with induction into the KYW Newsradio Hall of Fame. The pair were selected by colleagues and peers for their lasting contributions to the station's legacy of trusted journalism in the Philadelphia region.
"This recognition speaks to the legacy of excellence that John and Vince have helped build at KYW Newsradio," said David Yadgaroff, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Audacy Philadelphia. "Their voices have been a trusted part of daily life in the region for decades, and their dedication to storytelling, accuracy and integrity continues to resonate across our newsroom."
Ostapkovich, a National Edward R. Murrow Award winner, earned a reputation throughout the Delaware Valley for his sharp news instincts, creativity, and wit. Beyond his on-air work, he served as a mentor and teacher, shaping multiple generations of KYW journalists.
Hill began his career at KYW as a desk assistant in 1979 and quickly rose to become the station's first full-time African-American anchor at age 22. Over the decades, he became a steady presence as KYW's Business Editor and Anchor, while also teaching broadcast newswriting at Temple University and mentoring aspiring journalists through the KYW Newstudies program.
The KYW Newsradio Hall of Fame honors individuals who have exemplified the station's values of integrity, mentorship, and service to the Philadelphia community.
