GTC Towers has completed its acquisition of several income-producing tower assets from publicly traded Saga Communications. The deal continues the rapid expansion of GTC Towers, which was founded in December 2023 and is led by industry veteran Tony Peduto.
Michael J. Bergner of Bergner & Co. served as the exclusive broker in the transaction. "Income-producing towers remain in very high demand with multiples that far exceed radio station values," Bergner said. "All radio companies should monetize their towers-it is business malpractice not to."
Bergner has been active in tower transactions across the industry, recently brokering deals involving Beasley Media Group, Seven Mountains Media, SummitMedia, Withers Broadcasting, and Forever Communications.
GTC Towers -- formerly Grande Towers -- was co-founded by Clarence Cook and Jason Peduto and is backed by Norwest Venture Partners. The company owns tower sites across several states, including Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and South Carolina.
Peduto previously founded CTI Towers and led it through two sales over a decade before stepping down in 2022. His earlier experience includes executive roles at Optasite, SBA Communications, and American Tower.
