The AWM Foundation (AWMF) is using Giving Tuesday to rally support for its mission of advancing women in media through scholarships, mentorship, and educational programs. The global day of generosity caps a landmark year for the organization, which celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Gracie Awards -- a half-century of honoring excellence in media created by, for, and about women.
As AWMF closes its milestone year, the foundation says Giving Tuesday offers a moment to reflect on decades of progress while fueling opportunities for future women storytellers, journalists, and creators.
Supporters can participate in three key ways: by making a tax-deductible donation through AWMF's website or via Venmo (@AWM-Foundation); by spreading the word on social media using #AWMFGivingTuesday and #GivingTuesday; and by entering the 51st Annual Gracie Awards, now open for 2026 submissions. Each entry directly benefits the foundation's programs.
AWMF highlighted recent scholarship recipients, including Make Her Mark scholarship honoree Raha Amirfazli of New York University, awarded in partnership with Hallmark Media. The foundation also named Dayana Matasheva, an MFA student at Columbia University's School of the Arts, as the 2025 AWMF/NCTA - The Internet & Television Association Scholar.
Additionally, eight AWMF Student Fellows attended the Gracies Leadership Awards in New York this year, gaining face-to-face access to industry leaders and career-shaping professional experiences.
AWMF says contributions made on Giving Tuesday and through year-end giving will help sustain and grow programs that empower the next generation of women in media.
