Aiir Makes PlayoutONE Standard Radio Software Free to All

PlayoutONE has opened the doors wider for hobbyists and emerging broadcasters, announcing that its PlayoutONE Standard software is now available completely free of charge. The move marks a major shift for one of the industry's most accessible radio automation tools, which has powered community stations and small broadcasters for years.

The free release is not a trial or limited promotion but a full version of the longstanding platform. According to one of PlayoutONE's founders, the decision reflects the company's original mission: to make reliable, enjoyable radio tools accessible to anyone with the passion to create.

"PlayoutONE Standard has always held a special place," the founder shared. "It opened the door for people who loved radio and wanted to experiment, create, and broadcast. By making it free, we're removing one of the biggest barriers for hobbyists and newcomers."

While the Standard edition will no longer receive active updates or support from parent company Aiir, the software remains fully functional, stable, and widely used by stations that rely on its core capabilities.

As part of the announcement, Aiir is also making its LiveStream tool free, enabling easy live broadcasting without subscription costs. Companion apps Auto Importer and FileCopy are included as well, now free with a limit of one job per app -- enough for basic music or file-movement automation at small stations.

For broadcasters that eventually require more advanced features or dedicated support, PlayoutONE Pro remains available as an upgrade path.

By lowering the financial barrier, the company hopes to inspire a new generation of creators. "Radio has always been about creativity, community, and passion," the founder said. "Technology should help with that, not stand in the way."
