The Radio Vendor Alliance has appointed broadcast industry veteran Mike McVay as Strategic Advisor, a role in which he will help guide the organization's efforts to connect radio stations with vetted, industry-approved vendors.
McVay is President of McVay Media and brings more than four decades of experience in broadcast programming, content strategy, and talent development. His appointment follows his 2025 induction into the National Radio Hall of Fame.
"Mike McVay's depth of knowledge, innovative thinking, and commitment to the radio industry make him the ideal strategic advisor for RVA," said Dennis Green, COO of Sun and Fun Media and an RVA member. "His insights will be invaluable as we continue to empower local radio stations with the tools, services, and expertise they need to thrive in today's evolving media landscape."
Over the course of his career, McVay has consulted hundreds of radio stations in the U.S. and internationally, including Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe. He previously served as Executive Vice President of Content and Programming for Cumulus Media and Westwood One, overseeing programming for more than 500 stations.
His consulting work has influenced the careers of nationally known personalities including Delilah, John Tesh, Stephen A. Smith, Soledad O'Brien, and Reba McEntire. In addition to his Hall of Fame induction, McVay has received the 2025 NAB National Radio Award, was named a 2024 Giant of Broadcasting by the Library of American Broadcasting Foundation, and earned the 2024 Leadership Award from the Broadcasters Foundation of America.
McVay also serves on the boards of Country Radio Broadcasters, the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation, and the Library of American Broadcasting Foundation.
