Salem Media announced that veteran broadcast executive Val Carolin has retired, effective January 30, 2026, concluding a career spanning more than four decades in the broadcast media industry. Salem President of Broadcast Media Allen Power praised Carolin's leadership and impact, citing his collaborative approach and high standards as hallmarks of his tenure with the company.
Following Carolin's retirement, Salem announced two leadership promotions aimed at maintaining continuity across key markets. Jason Mosher (pictured far left) has been elevated from Regional Director of Sales to Regional General Manager, assuming oversight of the Atlanta and Pittsburgh markets. Mosher has been recognized for his results-driven leadership and consistent performance.
In addition, Mike Murphy has been promoted to Regional General Manager, expanding his responsibilities to include the Cleveland market alongside his existing oversight of the Twin Cities. Salem cited Murphy's steady leadership, alignment with the company's mission, and focus on business objectives as key factors in the decision.
Power said the changes position Salem for continued growth while ensuring stability across its regional operations, and he expressed appreciation for Carolin's decades of service and lasting influence on the organization.
