Muzzy Broadcasting operating stations in Central Wisconsin has been named Small Business of the Year by the Portage County Business Council at its annual dinner and awards ceremony. The award recognizes a company with 25 or fewer employees that demonstrates sustained sales growth, strong human relations, the ability to identify and serve a market niche, and a deep commitment to community service and leadership.
"This award reflects the hard work, dedication, and -- most importantly -- the passion for radio shared by our entire team today and by those who helped shape this company before us," said Samantha Skreczkoski, Account Executive for Muzzy Broadcasting, while accepting the award. "These principles were established in 1988 by our late founder and owner, Rick Muzzy, and tonight we proudly honor his legacy."
Managing Partner Bob Walker said the recognition underscores the company's longstanding commitment to local broadcasting.
"We are incredibly proud of this team," Walker said. "With local on-air personalities, local talk programming, local news, and play-by-play coverage of three local sports teams, our stations and staff are fully embedded in the fabric of this community. It was truly an honor to be recognized in this way."
Muzzy Broadcasting operates Classic Hits 97.9 WSPT, Country B-104.9, and Sports/Oldies 92.1 WPCN, serving Central Wisconsin.
