NPR American Storytelling Collection

NPR has launched the American Storytelling Collection, a new destination for limited-run podcast series produced by the NPR Network and its Member stations.

Described as an audio portrait of the United States told town by town, the Collection presents narrative journalism that examines national issues through local reporting. The initiative brings together deeply reported series that explore how communities across the country confront shared challenges.

The first edition features series produced or co-produced by NPR Member stations, including How Wild from KALW in the San Francisco Bay Area; Road to Rickwood from WWNO in New Orleans; Track Change from VPM; Bright Lit Place from WLRN; Extremely American from Boise State Public Radio; Inheriting from LAist in Southern California; and Landslide from WFAE and Nuance Tales.

Dan McCoy, NPR's Senior Director of Network Growth, said the Collection is designed as a curated and expanding catalog of high-quality storytelling that listeners can explore and revisit over time. He added that the initiative aims to amplify deeply reported community stories from across the NPR Network to a national audience.
