Local Radio Networks (LRN) has acquired Radio Workflow (RWF), combining programming and operational technology into a single platform aimed at streamlining radio station operations.

The deal brings together LRN's 24/7 music programming services with Radio Workflow's cloud-based management system, which includes tools for traffic, billing, sales, production and analytics. The combined offering is positioned as an integrated platform designed to handle both programming and back-office functions for broadcasters.

LRN Chief Executive Officer Steve Swick said the acquisition is intended to give station owners a unified system that reduces operational complexity while allowing them to focus on revenue growth and local market development. "Uniting with Radio Workflow brings together unprecedented cost saving opportunities, as well as the best 24/7 music programming across the radio dial for small and medium market station owners and operators," Swick said.

LRN currently serves more than 875 affiliated stations with nineteen 24/7 music formats designed for localization and station control. Radio Workflow's software platform, used by more than 700 radio clients, provides cloud-based tools for ad order entry, traffic and billing management, production workflows and AI-powered creative writing.

Under the new structure, Radio Workflow co-founder Fletcher Ford will continue working with broadcasters as Chief Revenue Officer, focusing on partnerships and client development. Co-founder and Chief Information Officer Shane Zammit will continue leading the platform's technology strategy and development.

The combined company said the integration of programming services and operational software is intended to help radio stations improve efficiency, reduce costs and simplify day-to-day operations while maintaining local programming control.
