SMAC Productions is expanding its content portfolio into podcasting through a new partnership with AMP Media, launching The Intersection, a podcast network focused on sports, entertainment, business and culture. The new network will debut later this year with two flagship shows featuring well-known personalities from across sports and media.
The first pairs Pro Football Hall of Famer Terrell Owens with comedian, writer and producer Chris Spencer for a weekly show blending sports, pop culture and current events with candid conversation and humor.
A second podcast will feature SMAC co-founders Michael Strahan and Constance Schwartz-Morini, who will interview prominent business leaders, entertainers, athletes and behind-the-scenes executives about leadership, entrepreneurship and career reinvention.
The Intersection becomes part of AMP Media's growing podcast portfolio, which includes The Triple Option with Urban Meyer, Mark Ingram II and Rob Stone; Unfiltered Soccer with Landon Donovan and Tim Howard; Throwbacks with Matt Leinart and Jerry Ferrara; Post Moves with Candace Parker and Aliyah Boston; Cousins with Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady; and Style of Play with Julie Ertz and Kealia Watt.
"Building enduring brands and telling compelling stories has always been at the core of SMAC's mission," said April Guidone, Chief Operating Officer of SMAC. "Launching a podcast network is a natural evolution of that mission, creating another platform for authentic voices to deepen audience connections, spark meaningful conversations and build communities that resonate across sports, entertainment, and culture. Together with AMP Media, we're excited to bring that vision to life."
The podcast venture expands SMAC's existing production business, which includes scripted and unscripted television, film, digital content and podcasts such as Calm Down with Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson and The Nikki & Brie Show. SMAC will produce all programming in-house, while AMP Media will oversee distribution, audience development and advertising sales.
"SMAC has built an exceptional reputation for developing talent and creating compelling content that resonates with audiences," said Rob Weisbord, COO and President of Local Media for Sinclair. "We're excited to partner with Michael, Constance and the entire SMAC team to connect with fans in meaningful ways and create new opportunities for brands through the power of AMP's distribution and media platforms."
