Doing Things, the social-first entertainment studio behind "Recess Therapy," "Overheard" and "Juice Box Jury," has launched "Overstimulated," a new weekly comedy podcast hosted by comedians and longtime collaborators Manon Mathews and Vincent Marcus. The series premieres Wednesday, October 14, with new episodes available each Wednesday on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube.
The podcast explores the challenges, humor and unpredictable moments of parenting through conversations between Mathews, the mother of a two-year-old son, and Marcus, the father of a 13-year-old daughter. Episodes will address topics ranging from generational differences to the impact of technology on families, with listeners invited to call in and share their own experiences.
The series will also feature appearances by creators and celebrities, including actress Daniella Monet, who will join the hosts for discussions about parenting and family life.
Mathews first gained recognition on Vine before appearing on Comedy Central's "Broad City" and Food Network's "Beat Bobby Flay." She has since built an audience of approximately 7.5 million followers across social media platforms. Marcus developed his following through celebrity impressions, beatboxing and comedy sketches.
The two have collaborated on numerous comedy projects, including their recurring characters June and George, a fictional 1950s couple, and a viral parody of upscale grocery chain Erewhon.
"I'm so excited to finally bring this show to life! It's been a long time coming," said Mathews. "We intend for the show to be a fun place for people to land, laugh, connect, and feel like they're hanging out with us. I can't wait for people to be part of it."
Marcus added, "We have such a natural chemistry and genuinely make each other laugh, so getting to turn that into a show with the team at Doing Things has been incredibly exciting. We want this to feel like the kind of show you throw on and immediately feel like you're in the room with us."
"Overstimulated" expands Doing Things' family-oriented podcast programming, joining "Juice Box Jury" with Trey Kennedy and "Recess Therapy" with Julian Shapiro-Barnum. While those programs feature children's perspectives, the new series focuses on the experiences of parents.
