Alpha Closes on $11M Rose City Deal, Ups 2 Execs

Alpha Broadcasting closed on its acquisition of Rose City Radio Monday, taking ownership of KXL-AM (News/Talk 750) and Sports KXTG-FM (95.5 The Game) for a reported $11 million. The two stations will be added to the previous acquisition of four CBS Radio's Portland stations KUFO-FM, KUPL-FM, KINK-FM and KCMD-AM under a Local Marketing Agreement (LMA).

Alpha President/COO Bob Proffitt also announced the appointments of Chuck Hall as Controller, as well as Tim McNamara's new role as Director of Event Sales and Marketing. Both Hall and McNamara are veterans of Rose City Radio.

"Having both Tim and Chuck in these critical roles on the team is exciting news for Alpha Broadcasting," commented Proffitt. "The depth of their experience, knowledge of the marketplace as well as their relationships in the building made this an extremely easy decision. We are assembling a very dynamic team here at Alpha/Portland these guys are a huge part of that."
