SNL Kagan Report Tracks 237 Media Deals in Q3

A report from SNL Kagan shows the media sector saw 237 deals with a transaction value of $746.2 million during the third quarter. The deals announced during the period, coupled with those announced during the first two quarters of the year, helped position Bank of America Merrill Lynch as the top financial adviser based on transaction value, according to SNL Kagan's third quarter league tables.
The company advised on four deals during the first three quarters of the year with a transaction value of $860 million. Ranked according to the number of transactions on which a company advised, CMS Station Brokerage took the top spot for the nine-month period, advising on 13 deals.
Legal advisers Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP took the top spot based on transaction value, advising on four deals worth an aggregate of $736.1 million.
Ranked by number of transactions, the number one seat went to Fletcher Heald & Hildreth PLC, which advised on 104 deals during the first three quarters of the year.
