Family Stations to Acquire WPEN-AM/Philadelphia

Family Stations Inc., headed by President Harold Camping (pictured), has agreed to acquire WPEN-AM (950/43kw) Philadelphia from Greater Media and its Greater Philadelphia Radio Inc. unit for $8.5 million. The station airs Sports programming and simulcasts with co-owned WPEN-FM (97.5 The Fanatic). Earlier this year, Family agreed to sell Religious WKDN-FM (38kw/106.9) serving Philadelphia (and licensed to Camden) to Merlin Media, which is now Talk as WWIQ-FM (IQ 106.9).
