Alpha Media to Purchase Buckley California Outlets

Alpha Media of Portland, OR, has agreed to acquire six radio stations from Buckley Broadcasting of California and Buckley Communications. Included in the deal are 10kw Oldies KKBB-FM (99.3), 12.5kw CHR KLLY-FM (95.3), 10kw News/Talk KNZR-AM (1560) and 4.1kw News/Talk KNZR-FM (97.7)/Bakersfield and 1.95kw Rhythmic CHR KHTN-FM (104.7) and 1.9kw Country KUBB-FM (96.3)/Merced, CA. Alpha Media Chairman Larry Wilson said, "The Buckley clusters in California will be a great addition to the west coast footprint. Merced is a unique city with a thriving arts scene and adventurous community. As one of the fastest growing regions in the nation, Bakersfield is a rich and vibrant city full of live and local opportunities."

Buckley Broadcasting and Communications President/CEO Joseph Bilotta added, "In Alpha we will pass the mantle and stewardship of our broadcast facilities in Bakersfield and Merced, CA. We have owned these wonderful stations for over 20+ years and our employees, audiences and advertising partners will benefit from the energy and considerable resources of this multi-dimensional media and entertainment company headed by Larry Wilson."

When all pending deals are completed, this transaction will bring the total number of stations owned by Alpha Media to seventy-four.
