Times-Shamrock Communications has agreed to sell four stations in Reno, NV, to Lazer Broadcasting and Big Horn Media. Lazer will acquire 100kW CHR KWNZ-FM (106.3), 100kW News/Talk KNEZ-FM (107.3) and 100kw Rock KZTI-FM (105.3), while Big Horn (whose principal is John Burkavage) will purchase 51kW Alternative KRZQ-FM (105.9). Lazer Broadcasting currently owns and operates 31 radio outlets across 15 markets in California and in Reno.
Lazer President Alfredo Plascencia noted that "we are delighted to be acquiring these fine stations from our friends at Times-Shamrock as an addition to our existing cluster to better to serve the Reno market."
John Burkavage, formerly the General Manager of the Times-Shamrock stations in Reno, said that "this is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for me-station ownership-and I am excited by the opportunity."
MVP Capital represented Times-Shamrock in both transactions, which are subject to FCC approval and other closing conditions.
