Salem Media Group Agreeds to Sell Eight Florida Outlets

Salem Media Group has agreed to sell four AMs and three FMs in two Florida markets to Immaculate Heart Media for $8.2 million in a move meant to reduce debt. Included in the deal are Spanish Christian WKAT-AM (1080) and Business News WZAB-AM (880 The Biz) along with WKAT simulcast partner and translator W249DM (97.7) in Miami. SMG is also selling Spanish Christian WLCC-AM (760) and Business News WWMI-AM (1380 The Biz) along with WLCC simulcast partner and translator W282CI (104.3 FM) in Tampa. Immaculate Heart Media is also getting a construction permit in St. Petersburg for translator W260DM (99.9 FM).
Following the sale, SMG will continue to own Spanish Religious WOCN-AM (1450) in Miami along with three stations in Tampa, including talk WGUL-AM (AM 860 The Answer) and Religious WTBN-AM & WTWD-AM (Faith Talk 570/910).
Under the agreement, Immaculate Heart Media will not acquire the intellectual property or the call letters of WKAT.
