Costa Media Closes on WFAX Washington DC for $800K

Costa Media Boston has closed on its acquisition of Spanish Hits WFAX-AM (1220)/Fairfax, VA, serving the Washington DC market, and its companion translator W264DB, from Newcomb Broadcasting Corporation. The purchase price was $800,000. Costa Media Boston is headed by Jose Villafane, and has additional broadcast interests in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Newcomb Broadcasting, headed by Doris Newcomb, exits the industry with this sale.

Eddie Esserman of the St. Simons Island office of Media Services Group served as the broker representing the seller in this transaction.
