Entercom's WWL-FM/AM New Orleans debuts "The Newell Normand Show," hosted by retired Jefferson Parish sheriff Newell Normand weekdays from 10am-1pm. "I'm very excited and I have to admit, I am a little nervous. It's a truly humbling experience to sit behind the WWL mic," said Normand. "I have such reverence for the station, what it means to our community and its reputation as one of America's super brands."

"Today marks a historic day for WWL. Newell commands the respect needed to host middays on WWL," said Entercom New Orleans VP/Market Manager Chris Wegmann. "He was a popular and powerful leader in politics who wants to continue to be a positive influence on our community. We have every belief that Newell will be an opinion leader, and his legacy of excellence will grow on the most powerful station in the Gulf South."

"We've never experienced such overwhelming excitement about a new host," added WWL Operations and Program Director Diane Newman. "Newell Normand will be the people's voice, a truth detector and a difference maker -- an agent of change at a time when everybody's yearning for just that."
