Urban One's WPPZ-FM (Classix 107.9) in Philadelphia names Shaila Scott as its new midday personality. She has a career in radio spanning over 30 years. Scott was the first hostess of "Kissing After Dark," co-host of the "The Kiss Wake Up Club," and aired in middays for decades until she departed from WBLS in New York in 2022. Currently, she can be heard in middays on WXBK-FM (The Block) 94.7 in New York and now Classix 107.9 in Philadelphia from 9am-2pm.

"Joining Urban One is a dream come true," said Shaila. "I am excited to blend my love for music with the rich culture of Philly and connect with the community on such an iconic platform. The opportunity to be a voice in the City of Brotherly Love is quite an honor."

"When it comes to longevity, success, and radio greatness, one of the names that cannot be left out of the conversation is Shaila Scott. We are excited to work with her and have her join the Radio One Philadelphia team," commented Radio One Philadelphia Director of Operations and Programming Divine Martin. "Classix 107.9 has consistently reigned as the Sound of Philadelphia, and adding her expertise, professionalism, and infectious energy will take us to the next level. We are excited to introduce 'Middays with Shaila.'"

"We are so excited to have Shaila Scott join the Classix Philly team," stated Radio One Philadelphia VP and General Manager Ezio Torres. "I know so many of her previous co-workers from WRKS-FM (Kiss) and WBLS-FM and have admired her from a few steps removed. Shaila brings the voice, knowledge and professionalism that is becoming rarer in our industry and will complement the music and enhance the sound of Classix 107.9."
