Longtime Detroit media personality Ryan Ermanni joins News/Talk WJR 760 AM as its new afternoon on-air host. Ermanni will be heard weekdays from 2-4pm, starting Monday. Well-known to local audiences from his two decades at WJBK (FOX 2 Detroit), where he co-hosted the station's late-morning talk show "The Nine," Ermanni brings a familiar voice and personality to the WJR lineup. Ermanni began his broadcasting career at 9 & 10 News in Cadillac, MI, before making his way back to Detroit television in 2003.
"Ryan Ermanni is not only a seasoned broadcaster with deep roots in Detroit media, he's also a longtime fan of WJR," said Steve Finateri, Regional Vice President and Market Manager for Cumulus Detroit-Ann Arbor. "His passion for Detroit, his engaging on-air presence, and his respect for what WJR represents make him a perfect fit for our team."
WJR Program Director Ann Thomas added: "We are thrilled to welcome Ryan Ermanni as a major addition to the WJR lineup. We are confident Ryan will bring fresh energy and compelling conversations to our afternoon programming, while honoring the values and voice that have made WJR a trusted name for generations."
For Ermanni, the move to WJR is both personal and professional. "I am so honored to be a part of the WJR daily lineup," he said. "I've always considered myself just a regular guy from the neighborhood who happens to have a really cool job. The WJR call letters mean something to me, as they do for many people who have grown up in our city and our state."
"I'm not your typical newsman. I wear my personality on my sleeve, and I react to stories the way someone might if they were sitting at home or in their car," he added. "We joke that I'm a 'man of the people'-and honestly, I take that as the highest compliment."
