Longtime 96.3 KKLZ-FM morning host Mike O'Brian has announced his retirement at the end of October, closing out a long broadcasting career that has spanned nearly four decades with Beasley Media Group and left an indelible mark on the Las Vegas airwaves.

The station will honor O'Brian's legacy throughout October with on-air tributes, special guests, and listener memories, culminating in his final broadcast on Friday, October 31.

Best known as co-host of the iconic "Mike & Carla Morning Show," O'Brian has been a fixture in Southern Nevada radio since the early 1990s. His sharp wit, warmth, and relatable style helped define the morning listening experience for generations of Las Vegas residents.

Earlier this year, O'Brian received the Southern Nevada Lifetime Achievement Award from the Nevada Broadcasters Association, recognizing his decades of service, humor, and community involvement.

"Mike is one of those rare broadcasters who truly becomes part of people's lives," said Justin Chase, Chief Content Officer of Beasley Media Group. "For close to 40 years, he's been the voice Las Vegas wakes up to - making us laugh, think, and feel connected. His passion, talent, and heart have made a lasting impact on KKLZ and Las Vegas."

O'Brian has earned multiple honors over his career, including "Best Morning Show" awards and recognition for his extensive community service.

"Hosting this show has truly been the honor of a lifetime," O'Brian said. "I never imagined I'd spend decades waking up with Las Vegas - laughing with our listeners, sharing stories, and being part of their daily lives. I'm deeply grateful for the memories and for my incredible KKLZ family."

His longtime co-host Carla Rea added, "Working with Mike has been the highlight of my career. He's more than a co-host - he's a partner and a dear friend. I couldn't be happier for him as he begins this next chapter, and I know our listeners feel the same."
