Jay Weber Ending WISN Morning Show, Moving to Podcast

Longtime WISN-AM (1130) host Jay Weber announced he will end his daily morning show later this month and transition to a twice-weekly podcast for iHeartRadio, marking a major shift after 35 years with the Milwaukee News/Talk outlet.

Weber told listeners on December 9 that the decision was "bittersweet," noting his continued love for the job but acknowledging that "it's time" to make a change. His final radio show is set for December 23. The station has not yet named his on-air successor.

"I'm only 59 years old and I considered agreeing to at least one more three-year or five-year contract, but in my heart, I know it's time," Weber said on his show. Reflecting on his career, he noted the evolution of talk radio and his role in shaping the format alongside Rush Limbaugh's rise. "We were inventing an entirely new aggressive, important, and game-changing genre," he said.

The move comes more than a year after fellow WISN personality Mark Belling also shifted from radio to podcasting. Belling congratulated Weber on X, calling his run "epic" and welcoming him to the "booming podcast world."

While stepping away from the daily grind, Weber emphasized he is not retiring. According to the station, he will begin his new twice-weekly iHeartPodcast in Spring 2026 and remain a contributor to WISN programming.

"It has been an incredible honor to wake up Wisconsin for the past 35 years," Weber said. "I'm excited to continue the conversation in a new format."
