Rob Archer Joins WSB Atlanta as Anchor/Reporter

Veteran broadcast journalist Rob Archer is joining WSBB-FM (95.5 WSB) in Atlanta as an anchor/reporter, returning to a full-time radio role a little more than a year after his departure from KNX in Los Angeles. Archer will begin at WSB next month, where he will again work with Ken Charles, his former boss at KNX. Archer's tenure at the Los Angeles all-news station ended amid staff reductions in June 2025.

During the past year, Archer remained active in broadcasting while pursuing another full-time radio opportunity. He launched the Substack newsletter "Archer's Line," co-hosted podcasts with Jack Messenger and former KNX colleague Charles Feldman, started a voiceover business and anchored newscasts for Remote News Service, providing local news to stations in small and medium markets.

"I thought my radio career was over," Archer said. "Then Loki bopped me on the head - and I'm getting another ride on the radio machine. The future, truly, is wide open."

Archer, who has lived in Los Angeles for 27 years, will relocate to Atlanta for the new position. His existing podcasts will be placed on hold while he settles into his new schedule, while "Archer's Line" will continue with changes planned for its focus.

"I'm truly excited to start this brand-new chapter - a chapter I honestly didn't think I was going to get," Archer said.

The new opportunity has also put Archer's plans to write about his radio career on hold.

"I've got some more story left," he said. "I will make it a good one."
