Clear Channel Radio will officially launch "Classic 93.1," a Classic Hits format on a new frequency, beginning June 4 in Sacramento. The station becomes the sixth in the company's local cluster. Core artists include Billy Joel, Elton John, Supertramp and ELO, among others.
"After several days of "testing" some of the newest digital technology in Sacramento radio to deliver the best quality audio available, having some fun giving the listening audience something to talk about and our competition something to worry about, Sacramento's newest radio frequency has now settled on its intended format," said Market Manager Jeff Holden. "Classic 93.1 is going to be a favorite for those of us who were in high school in the late 70's and early 80's."
"We've cracked the code and unlocked the vault," said cluster OM Alan Eisenson. "We've uncovered the biggest variety of the best hits of the 70s and 80s."
