10-year company vet Michael McCoy heads to CHR WKQI-FM (Channel 955)/Detroit as Program Director, effective August 3. He makes the trip to the motor city from CHR WNCI-FM and AC WLZT-FM/Columbus where he was PD and helped to launch WNCI's Morning Zoo show "Dave & Jimmy" into syndication.
Detroit OM Todd Thomas said, "Despite being a New York Yankee fan, Michael's a good dude. His experience and track record in the CHR format, as well as his knowledge of Channel's market history, makes him the perfect choice to take the reigns." Thomas will also be utilizing McCoy for other programming duties amongst Detroit's 7-station group.
McCoy joined WNCI as PD in November, 2004, and previously served as OM/PD of co-owned WHKF-FM/Harrisburg and OM of WLAN-FM/Lancaster, PA.
