WCTK-FM/Providence Names Bob Walker as PD

Hall Communications' WCTK-FM (Cat Country 98.1)/Providence hires 20-year industry vet Bob Walker as its new Program Director/air talent. He formerly worked for WKTI-FM/Milwaukee where he was PD and in-house consultant to the Journal Broadcast Group for seven years. Walker's previous stops as PD and/or Operations Manager include KQMB-FM/Salt Lake City and WCKT-FM/Fort Myers.

"We are very pleased to announce Bob Walker's arrival," said VP/General Manager Tom Wall. "We are confident that Walker's innovative marketing ideas and years of experience in radio will prove to be extremely beneficial for our station."

Walker added, "Since the age of 6, I've always wanted to work in radio. My first 'big break' was running Casey Kasum on Sunday mornings at WABK. I have evolved over the years, and have come to understand the importance of working for a company and a format that I am passionate about. Program Directors don't always have the luxury to choose which format they manage, but I truly love Country music and I am ecstatic to join Hall Communications."

Walker is slated to begin his duties with WCTK in mid-September.
